The remains of Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya who died few weeks back in Canada months after she gave birth to a baby girl, is expected to be flown home this weekend.
The DailyBells Nigeria reliably gathered that the committee saddle with the responsibility of organising a befitting burial for the mother of two has finalized preparations toward bringing her body back home today or tomorrow, Sunday.
It would be recalled that former governor of Lagos and national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had agreed to foot the bill of bringing her corpse back to the country for burial.
On the thinking that Moji’s remains might have been buried in Canada, one of the committee members debunking the story noted; “Nothing like being buried in Canada, Moji was a Nigerian and she died as a Nigerian, the fact that she died in Canada does not mean she will be buried there.
‘When we have difficulties in raising the money to bring her corpse home, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu bailed us out. Now, we are in the final process of bringing her down here, which I believe will be done this weekend.”
On May 28, most of her Muslim colleagues were at NASFAT, a Muslim group where the late actress was a member before her death to pray for the repose of her soul.
Moji Olaiya, who joined the movie industry close to two decades ago, died leaving behind aged parents and 18 year-old daughter, Adunoluwa and the little baby.
