Seun Egbegbe, ex-boyfriend of Toyin Aimakhu, arraigned, remanded in prison over theft of 10 iphones

Seun Egbegbe, a film producer and a former boyfriend of actress and social media celebrity, Toyin Aimakhu was arraigned on Thursday before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing 10 pieces of iphone.

Egbegbe who was docked before Magistrate Aje Afunwa on one count charge of stealing pleaded not guilty.

The DailyBells Nigeria gathered that the film producer had gone to Ikeja Computer Village and requested to purchase some phones, but while the salesgirl was trying to calculate the items Seun had requested for, he allegedly ran out of the shop with the phones and tried to board a waiting vehicle.

The salesgirl therefore raised an alarm which attracted other traders in the market.

Seun was caught and beaten to a pulp before the police intervened and rescued him.

However, Magistrate Afunwa granted him bail of N1 million and two sureties in like sum.

Seun was however remanded in Kirikiri since he could not meet up with the bail conditions.

Meanwhile, outside the court, a mild drama occured as Seun’s supporters threatened to beat of journalist if they should take the defendant pictures.

It was the swift intervention of the police and court orderlies who sent the rowdy mob out of the court premises.

While journalists waited to take Seun’s picture, his family members colluded with prison warders who sneaked him out of the court premises through the back door into a waiting prison vehicle.
