In what appears to be general endorsement for Ogun West zone ahead of the 2019 gubernatorial election in Ogun State, a group of young adults under the umbrella body of Ogun State Concerned Young Professionals (OGCYP) has endorsed Gboyega Nasir Isiaka(GNI) as the preferred candidate to become Ogun State next governor.
Although the group claims not to be linked with any political party or represent any division/zone in Ogun State, it gave the endorsement during one of its recent consultative forum as it says it believes in good governance for all.
Justifying the group decision, the coordinator of the group, Mr. Tunde Mogaji said “ having graduated with a First Class category in Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (B.Sc Accounting) from University of Ife (now OAU) and with great accomplishment both in the private and the public sector such like from near zero revenue, the Ogun State government generated revenue in excess of N1billion from investment management activities during his tenure at Gateway Holdings, amongst other notable achievements.
Mogaji noted that Ogun State needs somebody like Gboyega Nasir Isiaka with intellectual and right exposure with home-grown solutions to most of the challenges confronting the state.
“After careful analysis of all potential aspirants from different zones of the state, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, GNI as his fondly called seems to represent the true vision of modern day democrat with a technocrat attitude which our group represents.” The OGCYP coordinator stated.
The OGCYP said against this background, they believe GNI experience and exposure will work for people of Ogun State, as they also believe he would take Ogun state back to its right position in economical, infrastructural and educational realization.
