Bishop (Dr.) Chris Kwakpovwe, the writer/publisher of the world-wide popular daily devotional, Our Daily Manna, ODM and presiding Bishop of The Manna Prayer Mountain Ministry Worldwide has declared the month of June as month of mercy as he is set to hold the second edition of the annual Mercy Week.
Bishop Kwakpovwe, who made this known while speaking with journalists during a press briefing at his Church on Sunday in Lagos, said he received specific instruction from God to always show mercy to various categories of people especially two weeks before the annual July 14 days fasting and prayers that’s always used in ushering in the second half of the year.
According to him, the philosophy behind the programme, which began in 2017, is to show mercy and help people who are in need.
The programme, tagged Mercy Week is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 30th and Sunday July 1st simultaneously across the globe in about 100 countries and locations.
The Mercy Week would be featuring free medicals, visit to the orphanages, donation of food items, care for widows, visit to prisons, community services ( sanitation), scholarships as well as giving of cars to the elderly.
While noting that medical personnel and care givers have been mobilised worldwide for the event, Bishop Chris said blood donations would kick start in 2019.
“As a ministry, we have to impact on the society. There are many people out there who are helpless. We need to always reach out to them.
Bishop Chris, who recalled that leaving his pharmaceutical profession about 28 years ago to go into full-time ministry was a very painful decision he had to take, revealed that he would be glad once again to put on his lab coat to dispense medicine during the programme.
“On the d-day, I would be back to pharmacy to dispense medication as a pharmacist and also a prophet.
“Even though I pray for people to receive their healings, while I believe in miracles and prayers, I also believe using medicine to treat some illness is not bad.” Pastor Chris said.
The presiding Bishop called on Nigerians who are having various medical issues like glaucoma, and so on to take up the opportunity and show up for the programme.
Meanwhile, the man of God has also appealed to Nigerians to pray for him and his ministry against extortionists, kidnappers, satanic and wicked blackmailers who are bent on bringing down the ODM vision.
