Agege-Pen Cinema Flyover: Lagos Announces Fresh Traffic Re-Routes From Tuesday, May 1

Towards the delivery of the Agege- Pen Cinema dual carriage flyover bridge on schedule, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced the re-routing of traffic in the area as from Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

In a statement made available to The DailyBells today, the Ministry said during the new redirection of traffic, vehicles coming from Ipaja Road going towards Ogba will no longer be allowed to turn left at Oke-Koto but will have to go straight towards the popular AP Filling Station/Agege Motor Road to make a left turn to connect the alternative route besides Agege Post Office to link Moshalashi Alhaja to continue their journeys there from.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Abule Egba on the Old Abeokuta Motor Road towards Oke–Koto/Alfa Nla roads are advised to either turn right at the Abattoir into Oko-Oba Road to link Orile Road to continue their journeys or they may go down the road up to NITEL and turn right into Orile Road to turn left into Fagbola/Adejobi Street to access Agege Motor Road through Kasumu Street, off Agunbiade Road.

The statement, while apologizing for the inconveniences that the changes may cause the commuting public, reiterated that it was necessary to ensure that its continuous efforts at delivering the Agege-Pen Cinema dual flyover bridge on schedule remained on course while at same time ensuring minimum disruption to traffic within the corridor.

It would be recalled that the project was flagged in January this year by the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode with a completion period of 10 months.
